Matters Arising:
Quote received from Mosaic for work on trees is £10,000 – this includes the trees on the bungalow grounds – and they ask that we pay our share (They could not give us a separate cost for the trees in the disputed boundary.) Andrew will get a quote from a Tree Surgeon as he feels this is excessive. We have also been asked by a resident to cut branches from a walnut tree that badly overhangs their garden (this tree is on our site) Andrew will get a quote for this also. The boundary dispute has still not been settled and is likely to take some time. As a Society we feel that the sooner this matter is resolved the better and we may have to pay some towards the cost. This will be put to members when we receive a new quote.
We have been informed by the Council that we are not high priority for having work done on the overhanging trees in the cemetery despite their dangerous state.
Rosedale Road Report:
Mr. Tubby’s brothers will be starting work on his plot as Dave is still very unwell. If any member has scrap metal please put it by the manure pen as Alan will be going to Scrap Merchants this week. Manure needed. Thank you to the members who attended and who helped with the bonfire on the 5th and to Alan & Clive for building the fire. Thanks also to Kevin and Geoff and especially their wives who supplied curry and stew (you have got the job)
Pears have been stolen from several plots this year – we feel that this is not children but adults with keys, we will look into purchasing combination locks if chains can be fitted to them.
Bull Meadow Report:
Combination locks have been purchased, Alan will see if he can get chains fixed to them. Manure needed. Anti vandal is paint needed. 1 small plot is vacant. There was some fly tipping in Rookery Lane which was quickly removed.
Treaserer’s Report:|
Water bill for Bull Meadow £162.25 and for Rosedale £481.98
All rents paid except for 1 person. Raffle raised £12 (thanks Sheila). We now have on-line banking which will enable payments to be paid on line for rentals next year.
