MEETING – SEPTEMBER 2018

Matters Arising:

Canterbury trip has been cancelled due to lack of numbers. The Summer BBQ was well attended, and thanks go to everyone who turned up for the work party beforehand. They did a brilliant job.

 

Rosedale Road Report:

Manure needed for October. Clive R has made new posts for plot numbers (thanks Clive)

Our thanks go to leaflet distributers, tea makers’, cake makers’ , for the produce donated and to all who helped in any way at our open day.

Work has been started on Mosaic Homes. Last of Gro-organic sold, Alan, Clive and Elaine will look into ordering more. WATER WILL BE TURNED OFF 1ST OCTOBER.

 

Bull Meadow Report:

Lawnmower working a treat, scrap on site. Two tables were on site, but have disappeared (come on own up!) They were going to be used on site for BBQs etc. Please make sure you do not alter the combination of the lock when leaving (1 is stuck on there as no-one now knows the combination) spare  put on. A strimmer from Rosedale will be given to Bull Meadow.  John has repaired the barbed wire (thank you for your work) For Safety reasons, can you please make sure all paths are kept clear.  We do not encourage the use of carpets on site, as chemicals can leak out into the ground, and it is not easily disposed of, please use cheap tarpaulins to cover ground for the winter. (these can be folded down when not in use) WATER WILL BE TURNED OFF 1ST OCTOBER.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Balance as at 31st July (Year End) £4,130.25, the booked have been audited by Craig Gibson, out thanks go to him for doing this. Open day raised approx £250.

Rents are beginning to come in, 15 paid on line. Raffle raised £15 (thanks Sheila)

Anyone interested in 3 apple trees contact Elaine. NB. You will have to dig them out. We will look into holding more open days during the growing season, Clive R is willing to set up a small stall by the gate during the year (notice to be given via e-mail)

BONFIRE NIGHT : Saturday 3rd November, all welcome, bring food to cook and some drink. 5p.m. start.

QUIZ NIGHT: Friday 7th December, more details nearer the time.

If any member wants anything added to the agenda for the AGM, please email Chris, also if anyone would like to stand/nominate someone as a committee member email Chris (we will not be offended!)

At the last ATM meeting it was asked if anyone was interested in obtaining an IBC tank, 5 members present were. See Clive R.

 

Veggie Competition at next meeting:

Best up to 3 overground (e.g. 3 same variety tomatoes etc. or 3 different variety tomatoes)

Best up to 3 underground (e.g. 3 same variety parsnips etc. or 3 different variety parsnips)

p.s. NOT 1 brussel, 1 cabbage, 1 cauli!!!!!!  (for clarity) or for Kevin!!

Chadwell Allotment Shop is open until November Membership £1, but you can save that on one purchase.
