A.O.B.

Mark has set up the Association web-site. Address: www.rrbm.co.uk. He is to be provided with a list of members e-mail addressed so that he can give them a password to enable them to enter the blog for discussions/questions. Any comments/suggestions contact Mark at mark@rrbm..co.uk  Many thanks to Mark.

If anyone has any new or old photos of the allotment, can they let Clive Robertson have copies for his records please?

Chadwell Allotment Association will be opening this Sunday 16th Jan. They have their seed potatoes in. Open 9.30-12 noon Sundays and 12.00-2.00 Wednesdays.

Bagged manure is available free in Stifford Road. Left by the gate to help yourself. Phone Keith or Alan for directions.

The lease on the old nursery site at Bull Meadow is up and certain people are trying to have it turned into a wildlife park and to open up the other half of Bull Meadow Allotment Site. Andrew Klecha and Kevin Walsh have agreed to be on this committee.

Veg Talk:  Q: What is the best early potato.

Suggestions: Epicure, Pentland Javelin, Epicure, Shafts Express, Duke of York. Conclusion: matter of individual taste. Traditional time of planting: Good Friday, but really depends on the weather conditions. Also shallots can be planted in February.

December Quiz Night.

Miss Marple returned an answer sheet which was examined by Hercule Poirot (Andrew) as she did not agree with the totals.  Hercule agreed with this and it appears that this makes them the true champions. However the team agreed that the winners declared on the night could keep the prize. (They have probably drunk it anyway). But could a calculator be used next year?

A WORK PARTY IS NEEDED FOR BOTH SITES FOR SUNDAY 20TH FEBRUARY.

ALL VOLUNTTYERS WELCOMED (GRATEFULLY) 10A.M – 12 NOON.

Next Meeting: Friday February 11th. Tyrells Hall 8 p.m.
